The articles in this set is a work in progress. Currently, the articles discuss many prominent musical instrument manufacturers in the U.S. and a few from Europe. Subjects such as the evolution of pitch, the piano, and the organ are also included. The articles currently total just over 20. Also included is a lengthy transcription with artwork from The Musical Courier discussing the Fabrik Lochmann'scher Musikwerke. This German company manufactured the Symphonion, a small boxed mechanical musical instrument that had interchangeable metal disks that were perforated so as to play many popular tunes of the day.
